About Sam

Textiles, pattern, design and print have been my life since I first walked through the doors of the textile department at Camberwell Art School. After many further enlightening years in London, where I worked as a print and dye technician and then set up my own textile business, I now live not far from Exmoor in North Devon, where I can more often than not be found squeegee or secateurs in hand.

I design and print interior fabric and accessories in my studio and all of these designs start with drawing. My blog developed when I started to document the colours I found when drawing plants/birds/feathers etc. What started as a desire to source alternative colours to inform my designs rather than just global trend forecasted, has become an inspirational resource for my work.

My design work has twice been shortlisted for the British Design Awards, in 2007 with Rosemary Russet fabric and again in 2010 with Laser etched Cork Squares and has been featured in many national and international press including, Elle Decoration, Vogue, Homes and Gardens, Living etc, Period Living, Country Living, the English Home magazine and Architectural Review etc.
